Employment services consultant - Gladstone & Hervey Bay

Bridges is thrilled to be expanding our DES team. We have 2 roles available with our Disability Employment Services team in both Gladstone and Hervey Bay. If you have been waiting to join a purpose-driven company in the disability sector, now is the time to apply.


The Opportunity:

  • Representing a high quality, forward thinking not-for-profit organization in the community and communicating the benefits of the services delivered by Bridges Health and Community Care Ltd. to potential customers
  • Case management of Disability Employment Services job seekers at both DMS and ESS levels
  • Ownership of the entire service delivery model process, from a participant’s Initial Appointment through to Ongoing Support
  • Business development and networking activities to strengthen relationships with local employers throughout the Fraser Coast region
  • Consistently ‘create employment opportunities’ that are individualistic to your participant’s needs
  • Use your expertise in delivering the Psycho-Social Assessment to specifically identify the employment goals and needs of consumers
  • Developing and maintaining tailored employment pathway plans for job seekers
  • Educating others to assist in breaking down employment challenges and community stigma for DES job seekers
  • Be a part of a unique team solely focused on providing specialist support for participants marginalized in the job seeking market

Selection Criteria:

  • Certificate IV in Disability Services, Mental Health, or greater will be highly regarded
  • Ability to effectively and confidently reverse market and cold call participants, to ‘create’ employment opportunities
  • Understanding and demonstrated commitment to strict privacy and IT policies and procedures and workplace health and safety requirements relating to COVID-19 regulations.
  • Demonstrated understanding and skills in working with people experiencing mental illness
  • Case management experience at a Disability Employment Services or Job Active level
  • Proven ability working to targets and stated job placement Key Performance Indicators on a consistent basis
  • Advanced communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Ability to be a self -starter, who is driven to motivate and inspire clients to reach their employment goals
  • Strong administrative ability, with the capability to comply within the framework of the recently announced Disability Employment Services deed.
  • Demonstrated strong IT skills, with intermediate to advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office applications, use of smart phones or similar mobile devices
  • Willingness to travel to outreach sites, as required

It is a Bridges requirement to obtain the following licences before commencement:

  • Blue Card for working with children and young people
  • Yellow Card Exemption, and/or NDIS Worker Screening Card
  • Current Queensland Driver's Licence (open)
  • The right to work in Australia
