Access and eligibilityOur experience and approachOur service modelService fees Access and eligibility A strong evidence base supports the use of psychological services for the treatment of mental illness such as depression and anxiety. Adults experiencing psychological distress, facing adversity in their life or who have a diagnosed mental illness and require support, are eligible for this service. Experienced Mental Health Staff assist people to navigate services, link them with support options such as group peer support and NDIS, if eligible, and offer brief counselling for suicidal thoughts and a safe space for them to talk about their concerns, develop personal goals and receive support to achieve those goals. Our experience and approach We have been delivering community-based adult mental health services for over 22 years in regional Queensland. Our focus is on supporting people who identify as having a mental illness, such as schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder, depression, anxiety and personality disorders and those with mental ill-health (without a diagnosis) who are experiencing barriers, issues or adverse life events. Our goal is to support individuals to achieve their personal recovery goals, achieve a healthy mind and live a positive and pro-active life. Personal goals can include getting a job, accessing training, improving your housing, coping with everyday life, building life skills and social connections. Our service model Our commitment is to work alongside you in whatever way you require, providing varying levels of support as needed. We usually start decreasing services around 9 months but can provide support up to 12 months, if needed. During this period of support, we link you in with the other services and supports at your choosing, such as psychology, occupational therapy, local gyms, art groups and peer support. However, if you are experiencing persistent barriers and issues in your day to day life, we can help you to apply for the NDIS to ensure you have longer-term support as required. Service fees We are funded by Queensland Health Community Services Funding Branch to deliver the Individual Recovery Support Program for people who have recently accessed the local Hospital & Health Services in the Wide Bay region for mental health support. We are also funded by the Central Queensland, Wide Bay, Sunshine Coast PHN to provide the National Psychosocial Support service in the Wide Bay Burnett, Central Queensland (Gladstone only) and Discovery Coast regions.
