Bridges provides psychological and counselling services for NDIS participants with moderate to severe mental illnesses, addictions, or trauma.

Bridges provides psychological and counselling services to NDIS participants with moderate to severe mental illness, addictions, or trauma.

Bridges is culturally sensitive and has Indigenous cultural support workers available.

Services available

Choose to engage in services for:

  • Psychological therapy and counselling by accredited practitioners

  • Recovery coaching

  • Support coordination

  • Programs of support

  • Occupational therapy and allied health assistance

 

You can also access the following from Bridges:

  • Mental health services

  • Drug and alcohol treatment services

How to be referred to Bridges NDIS services:

  • You, as an NDIS participant

  • Your GP, in line with your Medicare approved Mental Health Care plan

  • You, as a member who is covered by private health insurance fund

  • You, as a person who chooses to self-fund

How to pay for your Bridges NDIS services

With an approved plan, the NDIS can fund these services for you.

RECOVERY COACHING 

Bridges delivers Recovery Coaching services throughout the Wide Bay-Burnett and Central Queensland Regions to NDIS participants. We can help you to meet your individual needs through a high quality, personalised service. Bridges is accredited against the NDIS Practice Standards.

What does recovery coaching really mean?

At Bridges, we believe that people can live their best life when they set clear and achievable goals, that are meaningful to them.

Bridges Recovery Coaches assist to build a participant’s capacity and skills, encouraging independence and goal achievement.

We understand that everyone’s path is different. We will walk alongside you on your journey and assist you to achieve your goals.

 

The Bridges approach to recovery coaching:

Personal medicine is one of our unique approaches - tapping into what you already do to look after your health & wellbeing.  Personal medicine comes from within. It’s not medication that you take. This means that there are endless options and pathways forward: they’re not prescribed by others, they are personal to you. Bridges doesn’t take your opportunity for growth lightly. Your starting point will depend on what you want to achieve. We’re ready when you are.

Our staff have professional qualifications in mental health, wellness coaching, disability, and community services as well as training in recovery-oriented practice.

Bridges is culturally sensitive and has Indigenous cultural support workers available.

 

How to get a referral to Bridges recovery coaching:

Our Bridges recovery coaching service receives referrals from the following sources:

  • You, as an NDIS participant

  • Your GP, in line with your Medicare approved Mental Health Care plan

  • Your support coordinator

  • The NDIA, or Local Area Coordinator

  • The Public Guardian

 

Bridges offer recovery coaching and support:

Bridges is accredited against the NDIS Practice Standards. We can help to meet your individual needs through a high quality, personalised service with accredited, professional staff.  We also have 25 years’ experience in the mental health industry.

How to pay:

With an approved plan and a Service Agreement with us, the NDIS can fund these services for you.

PSYCHOLOGY & COUNSELLING SERVICES 

Bridges psychology and counselling services are for people with moderate to severe mental illness, addictions, or trauma. This service is delivered throughout regional Queensland.

 

About our service

When you’re ready, consider Bridges psychology and counselling services. We will work with you to improve YOUR HEALTH AND WELLBEING

Our specialised psychologists and counsellors can help you address:

  • negative thinking

  • poor motivation

  • depressed mood

  • lack of energy or fear

There is a strong evidence base supporting the use of psychological services for the treatment of mental illness, such as depression and anxiety.

With Bridges specialist mental health professionals, you can choose to improve your:

  • Ability to confront fears

  • Relaxation techniques

  • Problem solving abilities

  • Behavioural responses

  • Anger management and distress tolerance

  • Communication skills in social settings

  • Stress levels in social settings

  • Ability to engage in interpersonal interactions

  • Quality of relationships

 

Bridges psychology and counselling services are delivered across Queensland

Our psychology service is available in Bundaberg and the Fraser Coast.

In our Bundaberg Practice, we have a registered Psychologist and accredited registered Counsellors.

In our Fraser Coast, we have Senior Mental Health Clinician, who is a provisional Psychologist who works under supervision from our Psychologist.

Bridges constantly reviews its outreach services throughout regional Queensland.

Our psychology and counselling service receives referrals from:

  • Your GP, in line with your Medicare approved Mental Health Care plan

  • You, as an NDIS participant

  • You, as a member of a private health insurance fund

  • You, as a person who chooses to self-fund

Bridges ‘No Wrong Door’ policy means we’ll help you find the right solution.

 

Service fees

Our Practice is not government funded. It is our mission to provide clients with a professional service at minimal cost. Your funding options may differ based on your individual circumstances.

Some options include: NDIS, private health insurance, Medicare by referral, or you can opt to self-fund.

Clients who are referred to our service under a Mental Health Treatment Plan will receive a Medicare rebate, with a small out of pocket gap fee to pay.

For clients who hold a concession Healthcare Card or Pension Card, we offer reasonable rates.
