Bridges Staff Acknowledged in Australia Day Awards

Last month, two of our Bridges team were acknowledged by their communities through nominations for Australia Day Awards.

Our CEO Sharon Sarah was nominated for Citizen of the Year and received a certificate for the nomination as a special ceremony on the 25th January. Sharon's years of dedicated service to Bridges and to the broader mental health sector have meant our region has exemplary, person-centred support for people with lived experience of mental illness. Sharon challenges us all to think differently, breaking down the stigmas associated with mental illness.

Russell Mills is our professionally accredited counsellor working in our child and family mental health service across the North Burnett. We are so excited to say that Russell’s nomination was successful and at the Australia Day Award Ceremony held in the North Burnett, Russell was awarded North Burnett Citizen of the Year. He is very deserving of this award as a dedicated, highly respected and trusted member of his community. He has given years of dedicated service across a range of rolls in government and in the not-for-profit sector to support the wellbeing of his community.

Well done to both Russell and Sharon.
