Chairperson & Company Secretary
Antonio (Tony) Castro
Antonio (Tony) has been involved in his family farming operation and has always been heavily involved in advocating for the agricultural sector in the Bundaberg region, particularly canegrowers until leaving the industry in July 2018. A dedicated community volunteer, Tony is a Director with the Waves Sports Club (President), Clubs Queensland (Vice President), Regional Business HQ (Chairman), EDON Place Domestic & Family Violence Centre Inc (Director), Bundaberg YMCA Ltd (Director) and has been serving as a Board Member of Bridges Health & Community Care Ltd since 2020.

Whilst in the sugar industry, I was a board member of the state lobby organisation, Queensland Cane Growers Organisation Ltd and chaired two sub-committees, the Finance & Administration committee as well as the Audit & Risk Management committee. In all my board roles I have focused on maintaining a high standard of governance and working to develop thorough and effective strategic planning to ensure the success and sustainability of the organisation.

Treasurer
Alexandra (Alex) Dodson
Alexandra currently works for Macquarie Group in the Retail Banking group division. She has worked in the financial services industry since 2016 across accounting, business partnering & treasury roles. Alex previously worked in the professional services industry (specialising in business advisory and tax), obtaining the Chartered Accounting qualifications in 2015. She enjoys giving back to the community and has been serving as a Board Member of Bridges Health & Community Care since 2017.

Director
Mark Curry
Mark Curry is an honorary fellow of University Technology Sydney, CEO of Savvy Beverages, lawyer of Supreme Court of NSW and a functional nutritionist. Mark is pioneering the space of “mental health nutrition options” with his award-winning business, Savvy Beverages, which uses nootropics to help people to combat stress while working hard.

Mark has utilised his background in order to assist Bridges and the board to make the right decisions going forward. Mark has a passion for mental health and helping people to enjoy themselves as much as possible. Mark has been serving as a Board Member of Bridges Health & Community Care Ltd since 2018.

Adrian Grant
Adrian is currently operating his own business as a corporate strategy and governance consultant. His previous professional experience has included senior executive leadership positions as General Manager/Director of Corporate Services, Strategy and Planning, Finance, Governance and Risk Management at all levels of government and the commercial sector including banking, insurance, and funds management organisations. Adrian is very passionate about the mental and physical wellbeing of all people and is keen on using his experience in contributing to the goals and objectives of Bridges Health and Community Care Ltd. Adrian has been serving as a Board Member of Bridges Health & Community Care Ltd since 2022.

Director
Peter Hawe
Peter retired from a long executive career in the sugar industry in early 2024. He has worked extensively in accounting and commercial roles within the sugar industry for over 40 years and has over 20 years’ experience in various senior executive, commercial and accounting roles related to cane farming, sugar milling, refining and heavy engineering.

Peter’s more recent executive roles include being the Chief Executive Officer, Company Secretary and Business Development Manager of Isis Central Sugar Milling Company, and Chief Financial Officer, Company Secretary and a Director of the Bundaberg Sugar Ltd group of companies. He has also been a Director of Queensland Sugar Limited and Australian Sugar Manufacturers (formerly Australian Sugar Milling Council). He has strong strategic planning, governance, corporate policy setting and risk management experience, and is an advocate for inclusion and diversity. Peter is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of CPA Australia, and holds a degree in Business (Accounting) from the Darling Downs Institute of Advanced Education (now University of Southern Queensland).

Peter’s objective is to eliminate any stigma and barriers experienced, and to better support those, on a mental health journey. He is keen to use his skills and experience in assisting Bridges Health & Community Care Ltd.

CEO
Sharon Sarah
Having worked in the health and community sector for 30 years, Sharon’s role is to ensure the company meets it legal and contractual obligations. Sharon is a registered practicing psychologist with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Psychology, Masters in Mental Health Practice – Griffith University and Diploma in Alcohol & Other Drugs and, certified as a Personal Medicine Coach.

Sharon served on the Executive team for the local branch of the Australian Psychological Society for many years, Board member and Chair of the Qld Alliance for Mental Health (QAMH) for 9 years and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management (FAIM).
